About Late Annaso Narayan Patil Bahuddeshiya Sanstha:
Late Annaso Narayan Patil Bahuddeshiya Sanstha
We started the special schools at Dhanora and Sakli
with vision and mission. It is a social movement; it is an infinite process through non-profit,
non-commercial, voluntary organization. Our mission is to provide a quantum rise for the welfare and
rehabilitation of the intellectually challenged youngsters.
Ensuring this welfare is the collective responsibility of a progressive society of which these children have a right to be an integral part. The basic idea for starting Special School was that as children grow, they need regular activities to help them with their physical growth, to utilize their energy in a proper and meaningful way, to develop their social and moral skills, to calm them down and regulate their night sleep pattern. Through sports, academic, vocational training, Our Special School is able to help these special children, according to their needs and capacity for learning.
Our Special School provides day-care for boys and girls with mental disability to fulfil their needs by making them a part of the new India, which is full of aspiration and hope; to be fully equipped to overcome any problem or difficulty and to strive ahead to be useful members of the society. Different educational programs provide these students with basic life skills and fundamental concepts that will help them function as independently as possible on a day-to-day basis. Our primary aims are to provide Integrated Care.
In 2009 we conducted a survey across Jalgaon district and found many mentally challenged children were locked behind the doors and no ones to care and educate them. Parents were worried about the situation and the future of these children. During the survey we found out that children of this group belongs to very poor families and parents were unhappy and depressed. So we were compelled to start a school to help the intellectually challenged buds thus we inaugurated and started Special School on 8th Dec 2005 by the grace of Almighty God with the strength of 16 children. During the span of ten years we have successfully given trainings to many special children to be independent. Till now two hundred and seventeen children has joined us with a view to inculcating in them the feeling of self-confidence and self-reliant.
Here students are introduced to concepts such as time, colours and trained in ADL activities, social, moral, personal hygiene, academic functional, occupational and so on. Yoga, speech therapy and physiotherapy are provided according to need. For children above 18 yrs who can cope, vocational training is arranged. Excursions and picnics for the whole group provide opportunities to develop social behaviour skills and learn to interact with outside world.
